Randstad is delighted to partner with a prominent educational peak body in Victoria in search for a Senior Compliance & Assurance Specialist. This is an impactful opportunity to help shape the future of the state’s education sector by ensuring schools maintain high standards of governance, financial management, and child safety.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Manager, Integrity and Assurance, you will join a high-integrity team team responsible for reviewing a large number of educational institutions annually. Your will play a critical role in ensuring these facilities comply with registration requirements and Child Safe Standards through both desktop assessments and onsite audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive audits to ensure schools and boarding premises meet mandatory registration and child safety standards.
  • Manage a cyclical program of reviews, ensuring all assessments are delivered to a high standard and within set timeframes.
  • Conduct moderation of assessments to ensure quality and consistency across the sector.
  • Support the sector by developing guidance materials and delivering training on compliance implementation.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with school leaders and proprietors through clear, empathetic, and professional communication.
  • Analyse compliance data to identify trends and provide high-level briefings for board-level reporting

About You

You are a collaborative, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a service-oriented environment. You bring a balance of technical expertise and emotional intelligence. You will have;
  • Qualifications in a relevant field like Law, Risk, or Audit, with a background in educational administration, law, audit, or risk management (minimum 5 years experience).
  • The ability to interpret and apply complex legislation, such as the Education and Training Reform Act and Child Safe Standards.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide actionable solutions in a regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Requirements:
  • A current Victorian Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one) and a deep commitment to child safety
  • A valid Victorian driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to metropolitan and regional areas for on sight school visits
  • Successful completion of a National Criminal History Check
